Volusia County Parole and Probation

Probation is a court sentence served in the community. It can replace jail or follow a jail term, and the sentencing judge sets its conditions. Parole is a discretionary early release from a prison sentence ordered by the Florida Commission on Offender Review. Florida largely ended ordinary parole for crimes committed on or after October 1, 1983, though older cases and narrow statutory groups may still qualify. Conditional release is a separate post-prison form and should not be called parole merely because both involve supervision.

Florida Department of Corrections, or FDC, supervises the public population reflected in its statewide database. The label on the official record controls. A Volusia County court docket may show the probation order, while an FCOR action may establish parole or another commission-controlled release. Neither a missing jail-roster entry nor a past VCDC release date proves that the supervision term is complete.

Verify Volusia County Supervision

The FDC Supervised Population Information Search is the first online check for parole, probation, conditional release, and other FDC community-supervision types. FDC says general supervision data refresh weekly, while termination and location changes update nightly. Search results may show a photograph, DC number, supervision begin date, Current Location, Current Status, Supervision Type, Scheduled Termination Date, and offense or case history.

1. Search by DC number when known. Otherwise use the full name and enough identifying facts to distinguish similar records.
2. Confirm the photograph, committed name, DC number, and case history before relying on the profile.
3. Read Current Status, Supervision Type, Current Location, and Scheduled Termination Date as separate fields.
4. Contact the office shown in Current Location. Office assignments can change, so the live profile is better than the nearest address.
5. Check the Volusia Clerk docket for the order that imposed, changed, revoked, or ended probation.
6. For final proof, obtain the termination, completion, or commission action rather than treating an expected date as discharge.

The official FDC supervision form is shown below. It demonstrates the correct database family for community supervision rather than current prison custody.

Note: A scheduled termination date is an estimate until the governing office records completion or a court enters the required order.

Read Volusia County Supervision Status

Status labels can change the meaning of a result. FDC defines Active as active community supervision. Active Suspense means the person is temporarily unavailable for direct supervision because the person is in jail or another facility while FDC tracks changes. It does not prove free community status. An absconder is a person whose whereabouts are unknown, who is unavailable to the supervising officer, and for whom a violation warrant has issued.

Supervision

Rules and reporting duties that continue while a person lives outside prison or jail.

Absconder

A supervised person who stopped making himself or herself available and is tied to a violation warrant.

Discharge

The formal end of the supervision term, shown by an agency or court record.

Tolling

A pause in the running of a term under the governing law or order.

A VCDC release timestamp answers only when Volusia County jail custody ended for one booking. The person could then be on probation, transferred to FDC, held elsewhere, or placed under another lawful status. A current FDC prison profile also answers a different question from the community-supervision profile.

Conditions come from the court judgment, probation order, release papers, or commission action. They can include reporting, approved travel or residence, treatment, payment, electronic monitoring, or other case-specific duties. The public FDC profile does not reproduce every term. If a violation is alleged, check the Volusia Clerk docket for an affidavit, warrant, modification, revocation, or later termination order. A violation allegation does not itself show the final court result. Likewise, a new jail booking may explain Active Suspense without ending the original supervision case.

Florida VINE can provide custody-change alerts for a named person, but it is not the source for probation conditions or final discharge. Use the supervision database for the live FDC label, the assigned office for current reporting status, and the governing order for the terms. Those three records answer different parts of the same Volusia County supervision question.

Volusia County Probation Offices

FDC places Volusia County in Circuit 7 with Flagler, Putnam, and St. Johns counties. Its current Daytona Circuit office list identifies several local offices. Search the supervision record first because Current Location points to the assigned office, which may not be the closest building.

The directory also lists Daytona Circuit (072) at 328-A East New York Avenue in DeLand, 386-281-6814, and Daytona Central (077) at 280 North Nova Road in Daytona Beach, 386-226-7868. Call the assigned office shown on the profile instead of guessing from the city.

Volusia County Absconder Records

FDC maintains a separate Absconder/Fugitive Information Search. It covers Florida statewide, and no full Volusia-only list was identified. A person absent from a live county jail roster but present in this database has not successfully completed supervision. The entry indicates the person ceased making himself or herself available and a violation warrant was issued.

The official absconder search pictured below should be checked apart from the supervised-population form.

FDC lists its Absconder Unit at 850-717-3475 on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The public entry is a verification lead, while the warrant and violation record supply the legal detail.

Note: Do not infer successful discharge from an empty jail roster; supervision, absconder, court, and receiving-custodian records answer separate questions.

Volusia County Parole Hearings

FCOR administers parole for Florida's limited eligible population. Eligibility depends on offense and sentence dates plus the governing statute, not a short online summary. Florida Statute 947.16 sets interview rules for eligible cases. An interview window is not a promised release date.

The FCOR voting schedule provides current dates and detailed agendas. Agenda entries can show a name, DC number, county, offense, case number, meeting details, and a category such as Initial, Effective, Supervision Review, or Revocation. A category is not an outcome. Volusia cases appear on this statewide calendar.

For the result, request the written commission action and compare it with FDC Release and Supervised Population. A written request is not required, and it may be anonymous.

Volusia County Release IDs

Volusia County's release planning reaches beyond the supervision database. The VCDC Identity Program coordinates Florida identification cards or licenses, birth certificates, and replacement Social Security cards before release. These documents can help a person report to the correct office and complete the first steps required by a release plan.

Personal property is returned at release. VCDC also permits an approved early property pickup with identification at any time of day. Approval remains in place for five days before the property returns to storage. This county process is separate from FDC supervision, yet missing identification or property can affect the first practical steps after a Volusia County release.

Note: VCDC identity and property services occur around county release; the assigned FDC office controls post-release reporting and supervision records.

Confirm Volusia County Discharge

Supervision ends only through the authority that controls the term. For probation, look for a Volusia court order or certificate that records completion or termination. For parole or commission-controlled release, obtain the FCOR action and check that FDC's status reflects the change. A scheduled termination date may move after a violation, warrant, tolling event, later order, or data update.

Keep the identifiers aligned. The VCDC booking number tracks a county jail stay, the Clerk case number tracks the court case, and the FDC DC number tracks state corrections. They are not interchangeable. A sound discharge check pairs the current FDC status with the order that ended supervision and, when needed, a certified Clerk copy.
