Volusia VINELink Search Coverage

Florida VINELink is the public web route for Florida VINE, the state's custody-status and notification service. It can carry agency-supplied information for a named person in a Volusia county jail or in Florida Department of Corrections custody. Florida guidance also identifies DJJ participation, but juvenile records and access rules differ from the adult search.

Coverage follows the reporting agency. A VCDC alert concerns county custody. An FDC alert concerns state corrections. The same word, such as release or transfer, must be read with the agency name because release from one agency does not rule out pickup by another. VINELink does not cover the federal Bureau of Prisons, ICE, or the U.S. Marshals Service as a substitute for their own channels.

The Florida VINE search screen is the starting point for a one-person custody query.

The statewide screen begins the match, while the selected result's agency tells whether the record comes from Volusia County or FDC.

Search One Volusia Inmate

A focused search needs enough detail to avoid a false match. Use an offender number or agency ID when it is known. For a name search, include the middle initial and date of birth where the interface permits. Never rely on a name alone when several results look alike.

1. Open Florida VINELink or call 1-877-846-3435.
2. Search by offender number or ID, or enter the person's name.
3. Use added identity details to separate duplicate names.
4. Select the matching agency and person. Confirm whether the source is Volusia County, FDC, or DJJ.
5. Review custody status, location, offender number, and any sentence-expiration or scheduled-release information supplied.
6. Confirm the status with VCDC archive records, FDC Release Information, the Clerk, or a receiving custodian.

If VINELink returns no match, try a corrected spelling, alias, or agency identifier. A blank result is not proof of release. The record may be delayed, restricted, held under another name, or outside VINE coverage. The Volusia County released inmates lookup maps the separate county, court, state, federal, and immigration checks.

A booking number and an FDC DC number are not interchangeable. The county number belongs to one Volusia jail episode. The DC number identifies a person in the state corrections system. If the custody type is uncertain, first identify the agency from the VINE result, then carry that agency's identifier into its own search. This prevents a county bond release from being mistaken for an FDC discharge.

Volusia VINELink Result Fields

VINELink displays what the participating agency sends. The exact interface label can change, and Florida does not promise one durable post-release label or a fixed retention period for every released county record. Read all available fields together.

A VINE release means release by the source agency. For a county case, check the VCDC archive for Release Date and InCustody = N. For a state-prison case, FDC's Inmate Release Information can show Release Date and Date Out-Custody. A court docket answers what the judge ordered, which is not the same as the moment jail staff completed the exit.

FDC separates its public databases by status. Inmate Population covers current state custody. Inmate Release Information covers people released or scheduled for release. Supervised Population covers community supervision. Absconder/Fugitive addresses people who stopped making themselves available for supervision. A VINELink notice should be compared with the right one, not merely with the first FDC result found.

FDC says release information updates nightly, while much general population and supervision data refreshes weekly with selected fields updated nightly. A same-hour mismatch may be a cadence issue. Check again after the stated cycle and contact FDC Admission and Release when the date or custody code remains unclear.

A scheduled date is not the same as a completed release. For a person still in FDC custody, the Current Release Date can change. After release, the separate FDC detail's Release Date and Date Out-Custody provide the stronger retrospective check. VINELink should not turn a projection into a confirmed event.

Register Volusia Release Alerts

Registration begins after the correct person is selected. Current web choices may include phone, text, or email. The phone workflow uses a direct ten-digit number and a four-digit PIN. A direct line works best because switchboards and call-announcing services can disrupt automated calls.

1. Open the matched person record and choose registration for notifications.
2. Select the phone, text, or email methods offered by the live interface.
3. For phone calls, enter a direct ten-digit number and choose a four-digit PIN.
4. Save the registration and follow any verification prompt.
5. Call 1-877-846-3435 to confirm registration, as official Florida instructions advise.
6. During an automated call, enter the PIN to acknowledge receipt and stop repeat calls.

The FDC printable form says any four digits may be used. If none is chosen, the last four digits of the phone number become the default. Text and email notices do not repeat like phone calls. Keep contact details current and preserve the notice long enough to confirm it through the source agency.

Florida guidance says an unanswered or busy call may repeat every half-hour for up to 48 hours. A call answered by a machine may recur every two hours for up to 48 hours or until the PIN is entered. Release and escape calls may arrive overnight. These are delivery rules, not a guarantee that the underlying agency data cannot lag.

The notification is designed to prompt a fresh check. Write down the time of the call or message, the stated event, and the reporting agency. Then open the originating agency's system. For VCDC, enable archive records and read Release Date and InCustody. For FDC, compare the release record and incarceration history. If the notice names a transfer, look for the receiving custodian instead of assuming release to the community.

Confirm Volusia VINELink Releases

Use the correct confirming source. VCDC's archive records a county release timestamp. FDC Release Information records a state corrections release. The Volusia Clerk docket shows court orders and disposition. If county custody ended through transfer, the receiving agency may hold the next record.

For unresolved VCDC status, call Booking/Bonding/Charges/Arrest at 386-254-1540. FDC Admission and Release handles state release-search questions at 850-488-9167 or dc.release@fdc.myflorida.com. Federal and immigration searches must not be folded into a Florida VINE result.

The BOP locator is the proper public check for a sentenced federal person and can show a past release date or a status such as released or not in BOP custody. ICE's locator answers a different question about immigration detention. The U.S. Marshals Service has no comparable nationwide public release roster. These boundaries matter in Volusia because a person can leave county custody while another authority's custody continues.

Two Florida Release Registrations

Florida has two connected but nonidentical notification records. Direct VINE enrollment does not create or update a record in FDC Victim Services. An FDC Victim Notification Request can add information to FDC's database and supply requested information to VINE. Anyone using both should update both when a phone number, email address, or mailing detail changes.

This distinction matters most for a person in state-prison custody. FDC notices may concern release, transfer, escape, death, or out-to-court movement. FDC Victim Services lists 1-877-884-2846 and Victim.Services@FDC.MyFlorida.com, with weekday service from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern. Florida VINE remains available by phone around the clock at 1-877-846-3435.

The FDC notification request can ask for information to be shared with VINE, but that connection does not merge every contact-management task. A phone number changed in VINELink should also be changed with FDC Victim Services when both registrations are active. Keeping the two records aligned reduces the chance that one system has an old delivery method while the other has the new one.

The state form complements direct VINELink registration; maintaining one does not automatically maintain the other.

Note: Registering twice is not duplicate proof of release; it keeps two separate contact records ready for the notices each system handles.

Volusia Registry Search Limits

The FDLE Sexual Offenders and Predators Search is another narrow Florida status channel. It applies only to people legally required to register. Status choices can distinguish confinement, release subject to registration, FDC supervision, DJJ supervision, and other specified states. It is not a general list of Volusia County released inmates.

A covered person's registry status can outlast jail or prison custody. That makes the source useful for the limited group it serves, but it cannot replace VCDC, FDC, or VINELink for everyone else. FDLE warns that supplied information can change and that fingerprint comparison is the positive-identification standard.

The official FDLE registry screen shows the specialized search that sits outside the general VINE workflow.

This registry may confirm a status for a legally covered registrant, but it should never be read as a countywide release roster.
